The AEAJ Working Group on Asylum and Immigration held its annual seminar on 10-11 September 2026 in Stockholm (Sweden),
generously hosted by the Förvaltingsrätten i Stockholm (Administrative Court of Stockholm). The
seminar, entitled “The Pact on Migration and Asylum in the Courtroom” brought together 57 participants coming across the European Union and partner European States.
The seminar was organised in partnership with the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA) and particularly its Courts and Tribunal Sector.
The seminar included presentations and high-level discussions on:
- Access to the EU and solidarity under the AMMR;
- Judging under pressure: accelerated border procedures;
- Continuity and change: the internal protection alternative;
- Towards a common European system for returns;
- ECtHR and CJEU current jurisprudence;
- AI in asylum and immigration law;
- Judicial approaches to climate migration;
- Future challenges on the implementation of CEAS.
