The AEAJ Advisory Group, gathering a broad range of profiles of AEAJ friends, held its formal meeting in Budapest on 18. September 2026, in a time of vibrant change for the judicial system in Hungary.

The meeting took place in the premises of the Budapest Metropolitan Court with the kind hospitality of its newly elected president Tamás Matusik.

The Advisory Group appointed as new member Mr Markus Thoma, former presiding judge at the Supreme administrative court of Austria (Öesterreichischer Verwaltungsgerichtshof) and former president of the Austrian umbrella association of administrative judges (Dachverband der Verwaltungsrichter:innen).

AEAJ greats our Hungarian colleagues once again, especially its Hungarian member, the association of Hungarian administrative judges (Magyar Közigazgatasi Birák Egyesülete).
